Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 June 2026 · Applies to symmscript.com and the Symmetra beta

These terms govern your use of the symmscript.com website and the Symmetra software ("Symmetra"). By accessing the site, downloading an engine, or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Symmetra.
Symmetra is pre-release beta software. It is provided for evaluation, research, and non-critical use. It may contain defects, change without notice, or be discontinued. Do not rely on it for production-critical or safety-critical systems.

1. Beta status

Symmetra is offered as a public beta. Features, APIs, performance characteristics, availability, and pricing may change, be added, or be removed at any time without notice. We make no commitment that any feature will reach general availability or remain free.

2. License to use during beta

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Symmetra during the beta period for evaluation, research, development, and non-critical services. Each engine download includes its own license file; where that license and these terms conflict for that software, the bundled license governs the software itself.

You may not: (a) resell, sublicense, or redistribute Symmetra except as expressly permitted; (b) reverse engineer it except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law; (c) remove or alter proprietary notices; or (d) use it to build a directly competing product from our non-public materials.

3. Accounts

Some features (downloads, support tickets, discussions) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable use & community content

When you post in Discussions, submit support tickets, or otherwise contribute content, you agree not to:

You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it for the purpose of operating the site (for example, showing your discussion post to other users). We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules, at our discretion.

5. Your responsibility for benchmarks and results

Performance figures published on this site are measurements taken on specific hardware and test conditions (described alongside each figure) and frequently using only a fraction of available GPU resources. They are observations, not guarantees. Your results will vary with hardware, drivers, operating system, configuration, and workload. You are responsible for independently validating Symmetra's suitability for your use case before relying on it.

6. Intellectual property

Symmetra, the Symmetra name, logos, website content, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license in Section 2, no rights are granted to you.

7. Third-party services

The site relies on third-party infrastructure (including Google Firebase and Google Analytics) and NVIDIA CUDA on your own hardware. Your use of those components is also subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

9. Limitation of liability

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Symmetra and its contributors from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms, your content, or your misuse of Symmetra.

11. Termination

You may stop using Symmetra at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, or discontinue the beta, at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10) will survive.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the beta evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice on the site. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Symmetra operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Where a specific governing-law jurisdiction and venue have not yet been designated for the beta, the parties agree to resolve disputes in good faith first, and otherwise in a court of competent jurisdiction at the operator's principal place of business.
