# Symmetra > Symmetra is a GPU-native runtime that compiles TypeScript route handlers to CUDA and runs them on NVIDIA GPUs. `sym server.ts` parses the routes, generates CUDA C++, compiles it with NVRTC and launches a persistent kernel; the CPU only handles TCP I/O and process lifecycle. It is in public beta: APIs may change and some JavaScript features are not supported yet. Requires an NVIDIA GPU with compute capability 7.5 or newer (RTX 20-series and later) and CUDA Toolkit 12.x or 13.x. Measured figures on this site always carry their conditions. Example: 624K requests/second on a trivial handler, p50 latency 304 microseconds, on a single NVIDIA L4 (Google Cloud) using 32 of 58 streaming multiprocessors (55% GPU capacity). These are beta measurements, not guarantees. ## Start here - [Getting started](https://symmscript.com/docs/getting-started): install the CLI and run a first GPU server - [Documentation index](https://symmscript.com/docs): guides and references - [JS/TS coverage](https://symmscript.com/docs/js-ts-coverage): what compiles to the GPU today and what does not - [Constraints](https://symmscript.com/docs/constraints): the real limits of GPU execution, stated plainly ## Reference - [Package reference](https://symmscript.com/docs/packages): @symmetra/http, core, kv, db, fs, crypto, env, net - [Server configuration](https://symmscript.com/docs/server-config): every serve() option - [Engine internals](https://symmscript.com/docs/engine-architecture): the TypeScript to CUDA pipeline ## Engines - [Engine catalog](https://symmscript.com/engines): the free Turing-machine engines you can download and run in the beta ## Articles and reports - [Running real APIs on Turing machines](https://symmscript.com/articles/running-apis-on-turing-machines) - [From Node.js to Symmetra](https://symmscript.com/articles/migrating-from-nodejs) - [Benchmark reports](https://symmscript.com/reports): results with hardware and test conditions ## Community and brand - [Discussions](https://symmscript.com/discussions) - [Support](https://symmscript.com/support) - [Brand kit](https://symmscript.com/brand): logos, images and boilerplate for writing about Symmetra
